Took a while to return. My busy life....

ONE LEFT STANDING

The war has come to my homeland;
It is ravaging my town.
Is there a wall left standing?
Knock it down, knock it down.
The battle decimates my people;
Enemies are at our gates.
Is there a roadmap for the peaceful?
All too late, all too late.

Come, you fathers, come, you brothers,
Time to hear the battle cry.
Weep, you sisters, wail, you mothers
As the world around you dies.

And there'll be one left standing
And there'll be one left standing
And there'll be one left standing
On the hill
And there'll be one left standing
And there'll be one left standing
And there'll be one left standing
On the hill
In the morning chill

Ev'ry heart will surely quicken
There's a fever on the brow
Even sturdy souls will sicken
At the now we see now.
So our children carry axes
And each cart a lethal load
Tension mounts with no relaxing
Ev'ry road, deadly road.

Come, you fathers, come, you brothers,
Heed the boiling in your mind.
Weep, you sisters, wail, you mothers
Soon your sockets will go blind.

And there'll be one left standing
And there'll be one left standing
And there'll be one left standing
On the hill
And there'll be one left standing
And there'll be one left standing
And there'll be one left standing
On the hill
In the morning chill
